Been too long

So it has been about a month, a little more actually :), and it has just been a rough month.  Health and stress have been at all time lows and highs respectively.  I have not been gaming as much as I used to. I have three games from gamefly sitting here and haven't even opened 2 of the envelopes.  I wonder if gaming is finally passing me by.  I am a little sad if that is the case as it has been a part of my life for just under 30 years.

On a good note we have been riding more as a family and went to a local park that has a 7 mile bike trail and rode it and found out that it ends a mere 2 miles from the beach.  It was really cool. The kids loved it and we loved the family time.  We got Ricky a "new" bike.  We found that on his 12" bike he had to constantly work and never got to coast.  So our town had a town wide yard sale and we saw a 16" bike for 7 bucks and decided to give it a shot and he loves it he can go so much faster. On his old bike he was only able to peddle at 5 miles and hour, on his new bike he is able to go 9 miles an hour, huge difference.

This past week (not in calendar terms) has been crazy.  Real busy at work and just trying at times at home.

My daughter has just been a terror and is a horrible listener and it makes it very rough. It is not like she doesn't know what is going on, she fully understands that you tell her don't do thatm she just doesn't care.

Example : I told her not to touch her brothers yogurt, she will stop and then 15 seconds later try to sneak it off the table and then when you just give her the stink eye she will pull her hand back then look at you square in the eye and go and grab it anyway. So frustrating.

Then at work I am trying to implament an employee management calendar and it is proving to be more difficuilt then it should. I am using the Rad Scheduler by Telerik and it is no where near as easy as it should be.  I am getting closer each and every day but I can't help but feel that if it takes me a week to figure out how to work within the constraints of this control, then couldn't I have just rolled my own in that time?

I installed Sitefinity this week and have decided to use that as my framework for the new business venture and so far have found it to be really good. A litte frustrating in getting it set up as I had to work from a blank project instead of the install and go approach but, that being said it was still nice and easy.  I have to get used to writing user controls instead of pages and making everything a little more self contained but that makes perfect sense and should be easy to adjust too.

I finished my 5th season in NCAA 2k8 (the last good college basketball game) and managed to win the title wth the University of Lousiana Lafayette Rajin Cajuns. I was a little sad with this season ending for the first time as I was losing the core of my team. My star Power forward, he was the best player I had ever had. My starting Center, he was a good rebounder, a good shot blocker and capable of putting up points when I needed him and finally my backup PF He was a great three point shooter and a great defender. However I managed to snag 5 4 star recruits out of it.  I have played 4 games so far this season and while I have gone 3-1, losing only to Indiana (they had great big men) I miss the go to guys from last years team.  I don't have that guy I can count on getting me a basket when I need it.

Ricky is officially a bike rider

So we took Ricky over to the park where they have a mile loop on thinking he would get some more little riding time with us running behind him, however I was brave and got him started and just stopped.  He made it about 1000 ft then stopped at his mother.  It was amazing, the sense of pride, and sense of awe was fantastic. I couldn't believe that my little boy was riding a bike without training wheels and no one holding onto him. It was awesome.

I absolutely love march madness. I love the sport of it, but more then that I love the human side of it.  I love seeing the smaller schools playing their heart out to get into the dance and then from there they are just amazing.

I would rather see a smaller school win then watch another major conference team win it all.  Every year I fall for Gonzaga in my brackets and every year they let me down.  They are just like the Bills or the Braves, they are damned good just not good enough. Not this year, they are not going to get me. Mind you this is all said prior to the brackets being announced so who really knows.

Now the bike riding, we went out and got some stuff for the summer as we as a family want to go on more bike rides, so we got helmets for me and my wife, water bottles a small under the seat bag for the keys and such and then we got this for Ricky:

We are hoping this will help him learn to ride a little quicker as it is not so painful for us to reach down to his seat and help him.  We have used it two days now and already he is able to keep his balance for about 20 seconds at a time.  He is just a little scared to do it.

Now onto the relationships part, I am a big talker, I like to talk about what I am doing, watching or about to participate in. I'll talk about it with anyone who is near, regardless of their interest in the subject.  Well today this proved to be a problem for my wife.  So from here on out I am not going to discuss my interests. Yeah let's see how well that works.
